Diddy Speaks On Rapper Shyne’s ReleaseTuesday, September 29th, 2009
Only days before the upcoming release of rapper Shyne from prison, Diddy speaks to DJ Absolute regarding Shyne and his October 6 release from the Woodbourne Correctional Facility. When asked about Shyne, Diddy seemed optimistic about his former Bad Boy artist’s release from prison. “It’s a blessing that he’s coming home,” Diddy explained on New York City’s HOT97. “I spoke to him like a couple of weeks ago and he sounded like he was in good spirits. I know he can’t wait to get home. I know he is definitely going to heat the whole scene up. He was definitely one of [many] talented young artists that I had the pleasure to work with. I’m quite sure he’s been using his time wisely and has some heat.” Back in 2001, Shyne was sentenced to 10 years in prison for first degree assault following a shooting that took place at a club in New York City in 1999. Diddy, who was also at the club, was acquitted of all charges. It is still unclear what direction Shyne will take with his recording career once he is released. Fabolous, Ryan Leslie & Ne-Yo To Form SupergroupFriday, September 25th, 2009 Music has always been one of those creative outlets that can’t be confined or considered constant because musicians are continuously trying to take the craft to the next level. What used to be a solo feat I snow being pursued with multiplicity as artists are now joining forces in order to take music to a higher form. Such alliances that are formed for the greater good of music are known as supergroups dubbed with a three-letter acronym. Supergroups such as LSG (Gerald Levert, Keith Sweat, and Johnny Gill), TGT (Tyrese, Ginuwine, and Tank), and CRS (Pharrell, Lupe Fiasco, and Kanye West) have only managed to take music up a few notches, if at all.
Now a new crop of rising icons are up for the task.
