President Obama hosted a Father’s Day Weekend BBQ on the White House lawn yesterday afternoon. And he invited several celebrity fathers, influential men, and local teen boys over for some chit chat about the responsibility of men and fathers…and some BBQ…Dwyane Wade, Alonzo Mourning, Etan Thomas, the President of Motorola, the President of Morehouse, and many other men were in attendance. Chris Brown pleaded guilty Monday to assaulting Rihanna and the two were ordered to stay away from each other, in a deal that keeps the singer out of prison but requires him to clean up graffiti or roadside trash. Brown’s plea to a felony charge will subject him to substantial scrutiny by probation officials, and the judge’s order puts the kibosh on any short-term prospects for reconciliation with his pop diva girlfriend as well.

On Friday, June 26th, Smokey Robinson and Alicia Keys will be honored at ASCAP’s (The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) 22nd Annual Rhythm & Soul Music Awards in Los Angeles. Robinson will receive the Heritage Award, while Keys will be honored with the Golden Note Award. Past honorees include New Edition, Mary J. Blige, Bill Withers, LL Cool J.

Chris Brown and Rihanna will face off in an L.A. courtroom this coming Monday after a judge rejected yet another motion filed by Brown’s attorneys to postpone the hearing.  During Monday’s hearing, a magistrate overseeing the case will decide if Brown’s fate will be handled by a jury or not.
