Hip-Hop star Ice Cube has been cast as a rogue cop in a new action comedy set to be produced titled Ride Along. The rapper’s Cube Vision Productions will produce the flick, with longtime production partner Matt Alvarez re-writing the script. According to Variety, the movie is still in need of a director and co-star, although production is slated to begin this summer. Cube plays a rogue cop in the comedy, who attempts to sabotage his sister’s marriage to a white psychiatrist by taking him for a ride during his work day.

We all have been wondering when and how Chris Brown and Rihanna will publicly address their battery case. The two have been reunited that is for sure but now we are all waiting on some kind of excuse or apology or something! Well it is coming out now that we may be getting some words from one of the two troubled stars as Chris may be making a high profile appearance on one of TV’s most respected talk shows.  Although their story may be more fit more for Jerry Springer if rumors prove to be true it will be going down on none other than hip hop’s #1 hater herself, Oprah Winfrey!Rihanna herself was rumored to be appearing on the Oprah show in February after the story and beating first broke. However she declined the offer but apparently did not keep it out of her mind completely. Word is that Rihanna is the one demanding that Chris go on Oprah and apologize to her in front on millions of people worldwide.  Sources near the situation have this to say.“Rihanna has been talking to Oprah Winfrey on a regular basis since late February when Oprah begged her not to take Chris back. She’s been having second thoughts about them being back together.”The source says that Rihanna feels if Chris would do this it would be a true show of sincerity in his apology and their making up. “Agreeing to go on Oprah’s show and tell the world how sorry he is will help make up her mind.”

So far it is not yet confirmed if Chris is willing to go appear on the Oprah show but the bottom line is he has to do it somewhere and the Oprah show is just as good a forum as any.  I wonder how hard Oprah would go on him? Do you think Chris should go on TV and apologize or just keep it all in the family and handle this privately?

Jordan Miller — the owner and webmaster of Britney Spears‘ most popular fan site, BreatheHeavy.com — has spent the past five years supporting the singer, but he’s about to be shut down by the pop star herself. Although Miller asserts that the sole purpose of the site is “to support the icon of our generation, Britney Spears, and to continuously stick by her through the good and bad,” Spears’ father Jamie has taken legal action over some of the content.

“I have been battling the conservatorship Britney is currently placed under for months now,” Miller wrote in a message to fellow fans on the site’s homepage Friday. “When I did not conform to the requests and demands Britney’s management and father, Jamie Spears, recently put upon BreatheHeavy to stay quiet, they in turn became angry and malicious, launching, what I feel is an unjust attack, against me and my website.”

He received a legal notice from Jamie’s lawyers pressuring him to dismantle the site by 3 p.m. PST Friday, or face an injunction, claiming they will pursue legal action by Jamie, who is allowed to do so as her conservator.

Miller also wrote that Brad Rose, the lawyer representing Spears in this case, told him in a telephone conversation that “you are an uber fan who’s gone a little too far.”

Spears’ legal team claims the site is “replete with willful, unauthorized” use of copyrighted lyrics to songs as well as video and audio recordings and photos of Spears.

“This entire site thrives because of you, the fans, who support Britney by buying tickets to her show, merchandise and music,” he wrote. “Sadly, your hard-earned money that goes to supporting your favorite celebrity, is now money being used to potentially sue me, a major fan and supporter of Britney Spears, and hide fans from knowing the truth.”

He added: “This conservatorship Britney is placed under, which controls every aspect of her life, is now clenching the future of her biggest fansite,” Miller writes.

Because his site, which is a non-profitable endeavor, costs a minimum of $350 per month to run, he is asking viewers to donate funds until “the situation has been handled.”

If the site remains online, Spears’ legal team says they will pursue damages and “injunctive relief in connection with the blatant violation of her rights of publicity and privacy.”

When iTunes announced in January that it was planning to offer music at variable prices, it was not clear when the change would happen, or if it would happen at all. However, according to The Los Angeles Times, iTunes is moving forward with the plan, boosting prices of hit singles to $1.29. Although the higher price of select singles will lower the price of other songs (new artist releases dropping to 69 cents, and current releases remaining at 99 cents), a few music label execs are criticizing the 30% increase. “This will be a PR nightmare,” said former EMI Music executive Ted Cohen. “It is for the music industry what the AIG bonuses are for the insurance industry.” With CD sales declining drastically, iTunes is hoping that the variable-pricing strategy will help to increase revenue in the music industry. Yet, in a period where online music spending is low and consumers are being hit hard by a recession, some music industry vets are questioning whether the decision to raise prices is a wise one.

Point of the Week - FOOLS…I’m going to keep it light-hearted this week. Let’s think about the people we know that tend to make fools of themselves. They have the least going on, but talk the most - Jack-of-all-trades and masters of none. They’re never satisfied until they look like a total fool. Even after that, they don’t learn their lesson and keep repeating their foolish ways and actions. But the worst part about fools is that they don’t take responsibility for any of their actions, and you are the one that usually has to come to the rescue or repair the damage they’ve caused (kind of like a pet monkey!) Teen sensation Soulja Boy has found his second smash hit courtesy of the chart-topping popular single “Kiss Me Thru the Phone.” This week, the Sammie-assisted track reached #1 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 Radio chart. On Billboard’s Hot Ringmaster’s list, it has remained the #1 ringtone for the last 8 weeks with sales exceeding 1 million. The popularity of the song was helped this week by a 1300 spin-increase in radio markets. The move resulted in the song’s listening public expanding to 107 million. After receiving steady criticism in 2008 over his legitimacy as a Hip-Hop artist, the young superstar feels his latest work shows a marked improvement in his musicianship. “My fans let me know, enough with [those] dancing songs for now,” Soulja Boy Tell’Em explained to AllHipHop.com in a statement. “Now it’s time to do great music like ‘Kiss Me Thru the Phone.’ It’s a real record, no gimmick. In addition to announcing a concrete release date for his upcoming Relapse album, Eminem will also plan a following LP during the same calendar year. A video for the number one single, “Crack A Bottle” will be released on April 7, with the full Relapse album scheduled for a release on May 19. “A lot of people were expecting ‘Relapse’ to drop last year,” said Eminem. “I was one of them. Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre.
