Haitian Hip-Hop star Wyclef Jean has announced the launch of Together for
Haiti (Kombit Pou Ayiti), a new partnership that will provide food and jobs in response to the current food crisis, AllHipHop.com has learned.

The Grammy Award winning rapper’s Together for Haiti is a collaborative effort between Jean’s Yéle
Haiti, the World Food Programme (WFP) and the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF).

Together for Haiti will also work with a number of non-governmental organizations and community groups to address the food crisis in Haiti, which is the poorest country in the
Western Hemisphere.

Jean and a number of celebrities will be on hand during a press conference in
New York tomorrow morning (May 20), where the rapper will officially announce the launch of Together For Haiti.

According to figures from the United Nations, the cost of food has climbed 53% in April, compared to the same time last year, due to the rising cost of fuel, weather issues and increased demands from the middle classes in India and
China.

Also, a number of countries have been the exports of rice, resulting in riots in impoverished countries like Somalia, Burkina Faso, Cameroon and
Haiti, where five people where killed during recent riots.

The price of rice is a major issue for
Haiti, which imports almost 80% of its rice.

The country cannot grow enough food to feed the population, due to widespread deforestation, which has claimed over 97% of the country’s rainforest, according to reports.

Together for
Haiti will work with various local agricultural organizations in an attempt to repair damaged soil and re-grow new vegetation.

Ciara’s stepping out of the box with her next release Fantasy Ride, packaging three discs for one album.

According to Billboard each disc will feature 5 or 6 songs that will be based on one of three themes. The first disc “

Groove
City” shows the sexy side of Ciara, while the second disc, “Crunktown,” will feature the up tempo club bangers. Fans can spin disc three, “

Kingdom of
Dance,” for Ciara’s house sound with freestyle-laden tracks.

Ciara will also appear in the upcoming film Mama I Want To Sing, co-starring Lynn Whitfield and Patti LaBelle, which hits theaters in October.

Fantasy Ride is the follow up to 2006’s platinum-selling The Evolution, and takes off in September. The first single drops in June.

Big Boi, one half of the groundbreaking hip-hop duo, OutKast, is stepping out with a solo album and a possible Live Nation tour deal before the year is out.

The
Atlanta artist’s solo album Sir Luscious Left Foot … Son of Chico Dusty is in its final stages and due out later this year.

“I’m shooting to finish the album by the end of August,” Big Boi told Billboard.

The first single off the disc, “Royal Flush,” features OutKast-mate Andre 3000 and Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon. Mary J. Blige comes through for the second single, “The World is Too Big.”

Rae is slated to be in the “Royal Flush video,” put together by longtime ‘Kast director Bryan Barber, but 3000’s schedule may or may not allow for an appearance.

“This album is Big Boi to the extreme,” the rapper said. “It’s like a recession special. I’m talking about what’s going on in the world, with everything from rising gas prices to the election. It’s just my insights on life up to this point.”

As SOHH previously reported, Big Boi recently premiered his collabo wih the Atlanta Ballet, “Big.” He is currently in talks to take the show on the road internationally with concert promotion company AEG and Live Nation.

this is the info: Remy Ma, who appeared in Manhattan Supreme Court, burst into tears upon hearing the sentence, which was delivered by Judge Rena Uviller.

Before delivering the sentence the judge addressed the court and Remy Ma.

“She’s overcome a difficult childhood. Her music has inspired people in need. She’s loved and has support from her family. This is somewhat of a pattern,” Judge Uviller told the court. “This is not the first time she has been engaged in a violent act. She has never taken responsibility for her actions. This has nothing to do with rap, it’s about the actions of one person. Remy is an extremely angry young woman, who feels the rules do not apply to her.”

Remy Ma was sentenced to prison after being convicted of shooting Makeda Barnes-Joseph in July of 2007, after $3,000 dollars went missing from Remy Ma’s purse after the pair and an entourage were leaving a
New York night club.

The rapper addressed Barnes-Joseph with what appears to be an apology.

“I apologize for not saving you from your physical and mental scars,” Remy Ma told Barnes-Joseph.

Remy Ma’s boyfriend Papoose had to be restrained upon hearing the verdict, which came just one day after he attempted to marry Remy Ma, unsuccessfully.

“All you want is money!” he said shouting at Barnes Joseph.

Papoose was escorted to an elevator and put out of the courthouse by court officers.

Remy Ma, who will serve her prison sentence at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women, plans to appeal the verdict.
